This article will show you how to connect to WiFi in Windows 7.

Click the WiFi icon.

This is located in the notification area. The notification area is usually at the bottom-right corner of your screen on the taskbar.

Select a network to connect to.

Click the name of a wireless network. All of the networks in-range will appear here.

Click the «Connect» button.

This connects you to the network. If a password is not required to join, you’ll be connected instantly.

Enter the network’s password if prompted.

Type the Wi-Fi password to connect. Some networks allow you to connect by pressing a button on the router. If this is the case, a message explaining this will show in the connection box.

Click «OK» to initiate the connection.

Once you enter the password or press the router button, click OK to connect. Once you’re connected, you can browse the web.

What if the network we want to connect is not on the list, even though it is really close to the PC?

Try rebooting the cablemodem. After it’s fully reset, do a «Refresh» on the wireless network list. If it still doesn’t show up, reboot your computer.

WiFi is not even an option on my Windows, why is that?

What Windows do you have? Also, your network adapter might not be compatible with WiFi. You might need to either buy a new network card or check if there is a specific adapter that might be used.
